In a chilling incident that has left a Las Vegas community in shock, a mother of three was found dead under "suspicious" circumstances, prompting the local police to seek public assistance in their ongoing investigation.

The victim, identified as 46-year-old Kristen Avelar, was discovered in a luggage bag near an apartment complex close to the Harry Reid International Airport.

According to The Blaze, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were alerted to the gruesome scene at approximately 4:19 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, they found Avelar's remains inside the bag. Despite the immediate response of emergency medical personnel, Avelar was pronounced dead at the scene. "It's a very morbid crime. Was she dropped off there? Was it done near here? It's very gruesome," a resident told KLAS-TV.

The homicide division has since taken over the case due to the suspicious nature of Avelar's death. The community, typically known for its tranquility, has been left reeling by the horrific incident. "I love this neighborhood, it's really a tranquil street, so it was a little alarming that something like this should hit very close to home," expressed a neighbor.

Avelar, along with her husband, previously owned a trucking company that had since gone under. She was also a mother to three children, a fact that adds another layer of tragedy to the already grim situation. The crime scene video can be accessed on the KLAS news report on YouTube.

As the investigation continues, the police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The hope is that justice will be served swiftly, and the community can begin to heal from this shocking incident.
