In a show of solidarity and support, a group of prominent volunteers from the organization Women for Trump recently embarked on a mission to Georgia, providing much-needed aid to those affected by Hurricane Helene.
This marks the first of many such missions, as the group plans to traverse the nation, extending their support to communities in dire need.
As reported by Fox News, the group, comprising of Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump, former Democratic National Committee vice chair and ex-Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Georgia GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler, ex-NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, and former ESPN anchor Sage Steele, initiated their "Save America" tour on Thursday in Austell, Georgia. The Trump campaign generously covered their travel expenses, which was conducted via commercial air.
The group's philanthropic efforts saw them donating a significant amount of supplies to Sweetwater Mission, a social services organization in Austell dedicated to combating hunger and homelessness. This generous act was made possible with the assistance of Goya Cares.
Pat Soden, the executive director of Sweetwater Mission, expressed his gratitude to Lara Trump, stating, "They put us on the map. We got a call from a woman in New Mexico wanting to donate to us. And we said, How did you know about us? This woman was watching the rally with President Trump and the chyron on the screen read that Lara Trump was going to be visiting Sweetwater Mission with Goya Foods. Youve put us on the map, and I cant thank you enough."
In response, Lara Trump acknowledged the crucial role played by Goya Cares, stating that Women for Trump is "incredibly grateful for Goya Cares," as they have "allowed us to donate thousands of pounds of non-perishable food for the people of this community." She further added, "Were here in the wake of Hurricane Helene and honored to be able to give back. Weve also been able to secure water, blankets, diapers, and items to meet the immediate needs of those impacted by Hurricane Helene."
However, Lara Trump emphasized that this is "just the beginning." She revealed plans for the Women for Trump tour to continue across the country, supporting communities nationwide.
Reflecting on the visit, Gabbard told Fox News Digital, "Im grateful to have had the opportunity to join Lara Trump, Sage Steele, Danica Patrick and many volunteers to pitch in and thank the hardworking staff and volunteers, especially during a time of great hardship and desperate need in the wake of Hurricane Helene."
Hurricane Helene, which claimed at least 232 lives and left hundreds missing, is the deadliest mainland U.S. hurricane since Katrina. As the nation grapples with the aftermath, Women for Trump are expected to continue their philanthropic efforts, focusing on supporting communities in need across the country.
