Zachary Levi, the acclaimed actor known for his role as "Shazam!" in DC's superhero franchise, publicly declared his support for former President Donald Trump during a recent event in Michigan.
The event, which he moderated, also featured Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
According to The Post Millennial, Levi initially supported RFK Jr., but when the latter suspended his presidential campaign, the actor shifted his allegiance to Trump. Levi expressed his sentiments, stating, "In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby. But we don't live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we're here to stop that."
Raised in a Christian conservative family, Levi was taught to harbor a "healthy level of distrust of the government." He firmly believes in the need to reclaim the country, echoing Trump's rallying cry to "make it great again." He stated, "We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we're going to make it healthy again. And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with Tulsi and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. Because I do believe that of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there."
Levi is fully aware of the potential repercussions of his political stance, especially within the predominantly liberal Hollywood industry. He acknowledged, Within my industry as you can probably imagine, Hollywood is a very, very liberal town and this very well could constitute career suicide, so Im glad I did it with you guys.
Beyond his role as Shazam, Levi's acting portfolio includes the TV series "Chuck" and the Disney movie "Tangled." His commitment to conservative values, despite potential career risks, underscores the importance he places on individual freedom and limited government interference.
