Elon Musk's platform, X, has taken decisive action against left-wing journalist Ken Klippenstein, suspending him on Thursday.
This decision followed Klippenstein's move to share a link to his article, which contained a confidential document about Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
According to the Daily Caller, the 271-page dossier on Vance is believed to have originated from an Iranian hack. The regime has allegedly been attempting to distribute it to major media outlets throughout the summer. However, even the most fervent critics of Trump had the wisdom to decline the offer. Klippenstein was the first to accept it.
The reaction from X was immediate and severe. Musk himself described this as one of the most egregious, evil doxxing actions weve ever seen. A spokesperson for X further explained that Klippenstein had breached their policy against sharing unredacted private personal information, which included Vance's physical addresses and part of his social security number.
Despite this, the left has suddenly developed an intense passion for absolute free speech now that one of their own has been appropriately silenced.
Left-wing Twitter users were quick to draw parallels between this incident and the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2019. Some argued that Klippenstein merely linked to the dossier and did not publish it. However, many simply saw this as an opportunity to criticize Musk, who has become their second most feared figure after Trump, accusing him of betraying his commitment to free speech.
It is clear that this type of personal information should never be published. X would undoubtedly uphold the same standard for any Democratic politician who found themselves in a similar situation. This is not just a vague threat to Vance; there have already been two assassination attempts against Donald Trump. The fact that the information appears to come from a hostile foreign government only exacerbates the situation.
Predictably, the left would react with outrage if they were subjected to the same treatment. They would unanimously call for extensive censorship, just as they did baselessly for the laptop story.
