In a historic shift, Luzerne County in northeastern Pennsylvania has seen a Republican lead in voter registration for the first time since 1970.
This traditionally Democratic stronghold now has more registered Republicans than Democrats, marking a significant political transformation.
According to Gateway Pundit, the Pennsylvania Department of State released statistics revealing that Republicans account for 87,415 of the county's 203,321 registered voters, surpassing the Democrats by 83 registrations. The county also has 22,414 unaffiliated voters and 6,160 voters registered with third parties.
Gene Ziemba, chairman of the Luzerne County Republican Party, expressed his enthusiasm about this development. "I'm excited that our work is getting out and being heard," he said. However, he cautioned against complacency, stating, "The celebration will not be till Nov. 5. We can't afford to take our foot off the gas. I believe Luzerne County holds the key to Mr. Trump taking Pennsylvania on Nov. 5. Luzerne County holds the key to the election."
This shift in voter registration is not isolated to Luzerne County. Last month, it was reported that GOP voter registration across Pennsylvania was four times that of their Democratic counterparts, a promising sign for the Trump campaign.
One of the key figures behind this surge in Republican registration is conservative activist Scott Presler. Known for his grassroots activism, Presler has been instrumental in driving voter registration efforts in Pennsylvania and across the nation. On his social media platform, Presler described the shift in Luzerne County as "monumental." He wrote, "WE DID IT! IT IS DONE! We flipped Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, from [Democrat to GOP]. This is monumental, earth-shattering, ground shaking news. Thank you to EVERY single volunteer that contributed to this victory!"
Despite these promising signs, the Trump campaign must secure victories beyond Pennsylvania to ensure success in the upcoming November elections.
