In a shocking incident that unfolded in Lebanon on Tuesday, over 4,000 individuals, primarily Hezbollah terrorists, were injured when the communication pagers they were using detonated, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
The explosions, which were confirmed by Reuters, took place at 3:45 p.m. local time, instigating widespread panic as Hezbollah-dominated regions in southern Beirut and other areas of the country were rocked by the blasts for more than an hour.
According to The Gateway Pundit, security sources verified that the devices were the latest models utilized by Hezbollah, believed to be crucial for their communication in the ongoing conflict with Israel. Reports suggest that Israel may have been involved in the manufacturing of these pagers. The day after the pager explosions, walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah extremists were reportedly blown up by Israel, leading to 14 fatalities and 400 injuries.
The incident took a political turn when a cartoon published in The Detroit News referenced the pager incident, featuring Congresswoman Rashida Talib (D-MI), known for her anti-Semitic views, with a blown-up pager on her desk. The cartoon's dialogue read: Odd. My pager just exploded. The cartoon was intended to highlight Talibs pro-terrorist sympathies, using the pager incident as a backdrop.
However, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) interpreted the cartoon as an attack on all Muslims and expressed her outrage. The way Islamophobia and anti-Arab hatred is so deeply normalized and accepted in our politics is horrifying, AOC stated. She further criticized the lack of condemnation for such sentiments, calling it a "massive double standard" and "inexcusable." She added, This is disgusting. And so is the silence around it. We see it.
AOC's comments were met with harsh criticism on social media, with users particularly targeting her perceived lack of intellect and pro-terrorist sympathies.
