An El Salvadorian illegal immigrant has been apprehended in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on charges of child sexual abuse and assault, following his release on a $20,000 bail, according to federal authorities.
Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, 28, was taken into custody on September 10, following allegations of a July 11 incident involving sexual abuse and assault of a 12-year-old child, as announced by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement ERO Boston in a press release this Monday.
As reported by The Post Millennial, Aldana-Arevalo was arraigned on July 26 in the Nantucket District Court on one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. After entering a not-guilty plea, he was detained on a $20,000 bail, only to be released by the Nantucket District Court on July 29.
"Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo stands accused of some detestable and disturbing crimes against a Nantucket child," stated ERO Boston Field Officer Director Todd M. Lyons. "He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities. ERO Boston will not tolerate such a threat to the most vulnerable of our population. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods."
ERO Boston disclosed that Aldana-Arevalo had unlawfully entered the United States at an unspecified date and location, without undergoing inspection, admission, or parole by a US immigration official. ERO Boston officers arrested Aldana-Arevalo in Nantucket and served him with a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge. As of now, he remains in ERO custody. This case underscores the need for stringent immigration policies to safeguard the welfare of the most vulnerable in society.
