The White House has been implicated in managing the communication responses of various cabinet secretaries to questions concerning the potential removal of President Joe Biden from office due to incompetence, invoking the 25th Amendment.
This information was revealed in a report by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project. This development emerges as Vice President Kamala Harris is speculated to be positioning herself for the 2024 presidential race.
As reported by The Post Millennial, the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project (OP) uncovered evidence of the White House's involvement in coordinating responses to inquiries about the stance of different cabinet members on the issue of removing Biden from office. The OP stated, We have learned that the White House was directing the communications response for inquiries to cabinet secretaries regarding whether Joe Biden should be removed for incompetence via the 25th Amendment.
The OP's investigation was triggered by an email sent on June 27, following a lackluster debate performance by Biden against Donald Trump. The email, addressed to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack, inquired about his support for "using the 25th Amendment to remove President Biden?" The email requested a response by July 1 and was also sent to USDA Chief of Staff Katharine Ferguson and Deputy Chief of Staff Justo Robles. A subsequent email was sent on July 2, notifying Ferguson and Robles that the USDA would be listed as undecided if a response was not received promptly. The OP's "25th Amendment Tracker" was monitoring the positions of various secretaries on the issue of removing Biden from office. As per the tracker in July, all secretaries were either opposed or undecided.
The email was flagged by Ferguson and circulated among several USDA officials. Allan Rodriguez, the USDA press secretary, responded with a note stating "Per WH Comms," with the remainder of the line redacted from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request under deliberative privilege. This report from the OP coincides with observations of Biden reportedly "shaking" as he descended the steps of Air Force One in California, fueling speculation about his fitness for office. Recent polls suggest that a majority of Americans question whether Biden's age might be a factor in his ability to perform his presidential duties effectively.
