Ethics Violation? Stefanik Calls OUT Judge Merchan Over Shocking Family Link To Harris!

In a recent development, Elise Stefanik, the House Chairwoman from the Republican Party of New York, has called for an ethics investigation into a potential conflict of interest involving Judge Juan Merchan and his daughter, Loren Merchan.

This request comes on the heels of Judge Merchan's decision to delay the sentencing of Donald Trump, the GOP nominee, in a case related to falsified business documents in New York City until after the forthcoming election.

According to The Post Millennial, Stefanik has sent a letter to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, raising concerns about a possible conflict of interest. She suggests that Loren Merchan, who serves as the president of Authentic Campaigns Inc., could potentially gain from the case against Trump.

Stefanik's letter states, "On July 21, 2024, President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek a second term. Within a few days, Vice President Kamala Harris was anointed to become the Democrat Partys nominee for the presidency. During his campaign, President Biden used one company, Amazon Web Services (AWS), for the campaigns web hosting services. President Bidens campaign paid AWS throughout 2023 through the suspension of his campaign in July 2024."

The letter further elaborates, "On August 20, 2024, Vice President Harriss campaign submitted its first Federal Election Commission (FEC) report that documented expenses and donations through July 31, 2024. In the report, specifically on Form 3P, line 232, a July 30, 2024, disbursement appears in the amount of $468.00 from Vice President Harriss campaign to Authentic Campaigns Inc. (Authentic) for web hosting services. This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over the Biden campaign infrastructure is to hire this firm, Authentic."

Stefanik's letter also highlights that Harris switched the web hosting services from AWS to Authentic "immediately after becoming the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee." The letter emphasizes that this new contract with the Harris campaign could potentially pose a conflict of interest for Judge Merchan, given his familial ties to Loren Merchan.

The letter goes on to state, "The Code of Conduct, specifically 100.3(E)(1)(d)(iii), dictates that a judge must recuse from a case where a relative up to and including the sixth degree has a financial interest in the outcome of the case. Ms. Merchan is related to Justice Merchan in the first degree."

Stefanik concludes her letter by pointing out the potential influence of Trump's sentencing on the upcoming election, given its proximity and the worldwide media attention it will attract. She urges the Commission to conduct a thorough investigation into this newly revealed conflict of interest for Judge Merchan and take any necessary actions that may arise from it. This situation underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity of the judicial process, particularly in high-profile cases that could potentially sway public opinion and influence the outcome of a national election.
