In a shocking incident, a nonagenarian veteran was brutally murdered in an apparent carjacking incident outside a senior living facility in Houston, as reported by KPRC2.

The victim, known as "Mr. Nelson," was allegedly engaged in a heated argument with the suspect before a gunshot rang out, according to eyewitness accounts.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the assailant reportedly shot the elderly veteran and subsequently ran him over with his own vehicle in a bid to escape the scene. The abandoned car was later discovered at an apartment complex approximately three miles from the site of the crime.

Despite the best efforts of first responders, Nelson's life could not be saved and he was declared dead shortly after arrival at a local hospital. "I heard arguing, men arguing. And next thing I know, I heard a gunshot. So, I ducked back into my garage, recounted Rod Bosson, a resident of the same apartment complex as Nelson.

Bosson further revealed that Nelson, a World War II veteran, was merely stepping out to run errands when the tragic incident occurred. He had his little shopping cart and a scuffle ensued, Bosson told KHOU11. They say he put up a good fight. Thats when he got shot. As the suspect backed up, he hit (the victim).

The Houston Police, who confirmed that Nelson was not acquainted with his alleged killer, have declared the suspect to be armed and dangerous. Bosson expressed his dismay at the incident, stating, "I mean, youre attacking elderly people Its a shame what happened. Its a retirement community. Its a shame they look at them as easy targets.

While the police have yet to provide a description of the suspect, they have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Houston Police Lt. Jonathan French condemned the heinous act, stating, This is just its pathetic as it gets. Thats all Ill say.
