WATCH: Mississippi Man Nabbed For Human Smuggling After Texas DPS Uncovers THIS...

In an alarming incident that underscores the escalating border crisis, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers discovered 17 illegal immigrants hidden in a concealed compartment of a Lowe's truck in Kinney County.

The hidden compartment, measuring a mere three feet in width, was the temporary refuge for these individuals, many of whom were dehydrated and in need of medical attention. The driver, Megel Cazanna Patterson, a Mississippi resident, was subsequently arrested on charges of human smuggling and endangerment. The 17 illegal immigrants were handed over to the Border Patrol.

According to Gateway Pundit, the Texas DPS has been actively involved in tracking down illegal immigrants and smugglers across various counties within the state. Over the weekend, the DPS Brush team apprehended an undocumented immigrant who was wanted on kidnapping charges.

The state's Operation Lone Star, launched in 2021 under Republican Governor Greg Abbott, has been instrumental in arresting illegal immigrants and smugglers, and seizing narcotics such as Fentanyl. The operation leverages the power of the Texas National Guard and the Texas DPS to combat the border crisis.

However, the federal government, under the leadership of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has been criticized for its perceived failure to protect the U.S. from what some are calling an invasion. Critics point to Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which mandates the federal government to protect each state against invasion. The article states, The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

The border crisis continues to escalate, with an estimated 15 million illegal immigrants reportedly entering the U.S. under the current administration, led by Biden and his appointed "Border Czar", Kamala Harris.
