Boeberts Beetlejuice Scandal Resurfaces As Opponent Challenges Her To Debate At The Scene Of The Incident

In an audacious move, Trisha Calvarese, the Democrat vying against Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert, has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging her opponent to a televised debate.

The proposed location? The Buell Theatre in Denver, the very scene of Boebert's infamous Beetlejuice incident.

As reported by The Independent, Calvarese extended the invitation to Boebert via an advertisement styled after the Beetlejuice 2 movie trailer. The ad, released on an unspecified date, begins with a voice inquiring, Is Lauren Boebert vaping? The video then morphs into a parody of the cult classic film, with the ominous warning, On November 5, your worst nightmare tries to crawl back to Congress. Dont say her name, followed by newscasters repeating, Boebert. Boebert. Boebert.

In the ad, Calvarese, seated in a theater with a bag of popcorn, addresses Boebert directly, saying, Congresswoman Boebert, I know youre new to the district. And you clearly dont know how to act in a theater or in Congress. I think I can help. Lets get together for a debate on TV.

Boebert, who has been embroiled in a series of controversies, recently switched from Colorados third district to its more conservative fourth district following Rep. Ken Bucks retirement. Calvarese's challenge to Boebert is laced with a hint of sarcasm as she says, I know the last time you were arguing in a theater, it was with workers. And hey, maybe you wont get kicked out this time. Youre not scared are you? The Democrat concludes her message with a wink.

Calvarese further expressed her determination to unseat Boebert in a statement, saying, Lauren Boebert as a member of Congress is truly frightening as is her behavior in theaters. But Im Trisha Calvarese, and on November 5th, Im going to become her worst nightmare and defeat her at the polls.

The Beetlejuice incident has been a thorn in Boebert's side for nearly a year. Although she initially denied the occurrence, she was forced to apologize after incriminating surveillance footage surfaced. The incident continued to haunt her, with protesters chanting Beetlejuice during her visit to George Washington Universitys campus amid pro-Gaza protests in May. In June, during a Republican debate, the moderator confronted her over the incident. Boebert claimed she had already done the apology tour and had owned up to my night out in Denver.

Despite the scandals, Boebert emerged victorious in the GOP primary in June in the new district. As of now, it remains uncertain whether the Colorado Republican has accepted Calvarese's challenge.
