The Democratic National Convention (DNC), a spectacle of pretense and deception, concluded its proceedings last Thursday.
The party's leaders, in a paradoxical move, urged the public to vote for them as the saviors of democracy, while simultaneously undermining the very democratic principles they claimed to uphold.
According to RedState, the DNC's actions included sidelining the candidate who had garnered over 14 million primary votes, in favor of one who had not received a single primary vote for the position. The party also attempted to exclude former President Donald Trump and several third-party candidates from the ballot.
The DNC's messaging centered around the theme of joy, yet their speeches were dominated by attacks on their political adversaries and millions of their supporters. The party's leaders offered little insight into their plans for serving the American people. This omission, however, is not surprising given their lackluster performance over the past three years.
The DNC's predicament is further complicated by their portrayal of Kamala Harris as an agent of change, despite her tenure with Joe Biden over the last few years. This narrative is difficult to sell, particularly when Harris refrains from discussing policy or participating in interviews, opting instead for scripted speeches delivered from a teleprompter.
In stark contrast, Trump has demonstrated his willingness to engage in open dialogue about his plans. He successfully stole the spotlight from Harris by debunking her falsehoods on Truth Social, and participating in an interview with Bret Baier and Martha McCallum on Fox.
However, the interview was cut short to transition to Greg Gutfeld's show. Gutfeld humorously invited Trump to call him, expressing hope that Trump was not upset about the abrupt end to his interview. To the delight of the audience, Trump took up Gutfeld's offer and called him.
Trump's call was a refreshing departure from the scripted interactions that characterized Harris' appearances. His spontaneity and authenticity are qualities that the Democrats struggle to emulate, despite their attempts to control every aspect of their narrative.
Trump's genuine connection with the people was further demonstrated when he left the safety of his protective barrier to check on a supporter who had fallen ill. This act of concern and kindness was met with heartfelt appreciation from the supporter.
In contrast, Harris has yet to share her policies with the American people. While Trump is actively engaging with the public and addressing their concerns, the Democrats are resorting to empty rhetoric and deception. The choice between authenticity and pretense is clear.
The DNC's festival of fakery may have concluded, but the repercussions of their actions continue to reverberate. Their attempts to undermine democracy, coupled with their failure to serve the American people effectively, have exposed the party's true colors. As the election approaches, voters are left to decide between a party that values authenticity and action, and one that prioritizes pretense and deception.
