In a recent revelation, former President Donald Trump has identified New York Governor Kathy Hochul as the "nastiest speaker" at the Democratic National Convention.
Trump, who expressed his sentiments via Truth Social, criticized Hochul's "total hatred," which he claimed was boundless.
According to The Independent, Hochul, during the inaugural night of the DNC on August 19, spoke about her shared values with presidential candidate Kamala Harris. These values, she said, were "grit, determination," and "compassion." Hochul, who assumed office three years ago following Andrew Cuomo's departure amidst sexual misconduct allegations, stated that these values have "always defined" New Yorkers. However, she excluded Trump from this definition.
In her speech, Hochul did not mince words about Trump. "Donald Trump was born a New Yorker, but ended up a fraud, a philanderer, and a felon," she declared. She went on to criticize Trump for his alleged fraudulent activities, tax evasion, and exploitation of workers. "He abuses women, brags about it, and then takes away their rights. And New Yorkers are sick of it," she added. She even extended her apology to Floridians, citing Trump's retreat to Mar-a-Lago.
In response to Hochul's remarks, Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday. He labeled Hochul as a "very unpopular" governor and claimed that she "was the nastiest speaker on Monday evening ... as it pertains to your favorite President, me." He further stated, "Her total hatred, and statements made about me, had no bounds."
Trump defended his record in New York, asserting that he did a "GREAT job," employed thousands, constructed successful buildings, and contributed billions in taxes. He also questioned the potential benefits for New Yorkers if they had a governor who maintained a harmonious relationship with the President, emphasizing that "Adversarial relationships are not good in politics!"
Trump also expressed his discontent with the New York courts, describing them as "biased and hateful." He attributed his perceived mistreatment by the judges to the "vitriol displayed" by Hochul.
In her speech, Hochul also lauded the Biden administration for its efforts in reviving manufacturing jobs, a feat she claimed Trump only talked about but never achieved. "Trump talked big about bringing back manufacturing jobs. But you know who actually did it? President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris," she stated.governance.
