A former student, who wishes to be known only as "Shad," has made some startling revelations about Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), the Democratic vice presidential candidate.
Shad, who accompanied Walz on a trip to China in 1995, claims that Walz is a fervent admirer of the communist regime and is "a Maoist to the core."
Shad's revelations about Walz's alleged affinity for the Chinese communist regime were shared with Alpha News. "It was almost a daily revelation of how much he adores the communist regime," Shad said. These claims come after former President Donald Trump labeled Walz a "radical leftist" following his selection as Kamala Harris's running mate.
Walz's connection with China runs deep. He spent a significant portion of his life, approximately a decade, visiting China frequently. His engagement with the country began when he taught at a high school as part of a Harvard University program. His first trip to China was in 1989, coinciding with the Tiananmen Square protests. However, he was in Hong Kong when the Beijing government brutally suppressed and killed the student demonstrators.
According to The New York Times, Walz later visited the site of the massacre but seemingly did not express disapproval of the violence. Instead, he returned home singing praises of China. His connection with the country was further cemented when he married Gwen Whipple on the anniversary of the government crackdown. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Whipple noted that Walz "wanted to have a date he'll always remember." The couple even chose China as their honeymoon destination.
Over the next decade, Walz visited China "about 30 times" by his own estimation. He sponsored summer trips for students and was a visiting fellow at a Chinese university. Shad, who was one of the students who traveled with Walz, claims that Walz's fascination with China extended beyond its geography to its ideology. "There was no doubt he was a true believer," Shad said. "I've been trying to tell people this for 30 years. Nobody wanted to listen."
Shad further revealed that Walz had a penchant for buying the Little Red Book, a book of quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong, the Chinese dictator responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people. "It would be like [being] in Germany and buying copies of Mein Kampf," Shad told Alpha News. He also drew attention to the policies enacted by Walz's administration, which he believes are indicative of his Maoist leanings.
Shad also pointed out similarities between the messaging of Walz and Kamala Harris and the propaganda materials used by Mao. "People need to have their eyes wide open," Shad said. "The snitch hotline in Minnesota is straight out of CCP. Tim Walz is a very bright guy. None of this by accident."
Walz served in the National Guard for 24 years, from 1981 to 2005. During this period, many of his trips to China, a country that Americans in uniform are not supposed to visit, took place. This has raised eyebrows and led to calls for an investigation into Walz's "longstanding connections to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entities and officials" by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer.
Walz's unusual relationship with Communist China has also drawn criticism from Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK), who believes Walz "owes the American people an explanation," according to Alpha News. Walz's staff did not respond to Alpha News' request for comment.
However, they did acknowledge Comer's investigation. A spokesman for Walz told the media, "Throughout his career, Governor Walz has stood up to the CCP, fought for human rights and democracy, and always put American jobs and manufacturing first." The spokesman accused Republicans of twisting facts and lying to distract from the Trump-Vance agenda. He assured that Vice President Harris and Governor Walz will always stand up for American values and interests against China's threats.
