In a horrifying incident in Queens, a group of armed assailants invaded a residence, causing injuries to two occupants and briefly holding the household hostage, according to law enforcement officials.

As reported by The New York Post, the intruders, armed with firearms and hammers, attacked a 43-year-old man, striking his foot with a hammer, and assaulted a 71-year-old woman, hitting her in the face. The NYPD confirmed that other occupants of the house, including a 32-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, and two children aged 13 and 10, were present during the incident but remained unscathed.

Upon responding to emergency calls, police officers encountered a 40-year-old woman who had fled the house with a baby, pleading for assistance. She informed the officers that three men had forcibly entered the residence and that her family members were still inside. The suspects managed to escape through a kitchen window with an undisclosed amount of cash but were apprehended after a short pursuit, according to the police. The duration of their presence inside the house remains uncertain.

A visibly shaken resident of the house later told The Post, Im not in any emotion to talk right now. NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Kaz Daughtry, praised the NYPD's swift response, which included deploying drones in the area. Our drones were able to respond and provided invaluable assistance during the apprehension of the suspects, Daughtry stated. It is important to note that multiple family members were being held against their will by three individuals at the time.

The three suspects, two aged 34 and one aged 39, were arrested, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed. Charges are pending, and the injured adults declined medical attention at the scene. The police are still piecing together the details of this shocking crime. Daughtry commended the quick and coordinated efforts of the Emergency Services Unit and officers from the 109th & 111th precincts, stating, all three suspects were apprehended without incident in a short time frame.
