In a shocking incident that unfolded in New York City on Sunday, a woman was reportedly raped at knifepoint by an illegal migrant who had previously been arrested for sexual assault.
The woman's boyfriend was assaulted when he tried to intervene, according to law enforcement sources.
As reported by WND, the alleged perpetrator, 24-year-old Nicaraguan migrant David Davon-Bonilla, is said to have thrown the 46-year-old woman to the ground, holding a knife to her throat as he committed the heinous act. When the woman's boyfriend attempted to intervene, Davon-Bonilla's alleged accomplice, 37-year-old Mexican migrant Leovando Moreno, reportedly attacked him with a pipe.
Davon-Bonilla, who entered the U.S. illegally in December 2022, had already pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting another woman since his arrival in the country. Moreno, on the other hand, was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon for his role in the alleged rape. Davon-Bonilla faces charges of first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The victim was transported to Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
Davon-Bonilla had been residing at La Quinta Hotel in Manhattan, one of the many New York City hotels being utilized to accommodate illegal immigrants. It's worth noting that approximately $2 billion of the $4.88 billion that NYC residents have collectively spent on migrants has been allocated towards such accommodations.
The influx of migrants into New York City has been significant, with more than 200,000 arriving since 2022. This surge led Mayor Eric Adams to announce a 5% budget cut in September to fund migrant services.
This incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks reportedly committed by migrants this year. In June, a 12-year-old girl named Jocelyn Nungaray was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by two illegal migrants in Texas. In another horrifying incident in August 2023, a 37-year-old Maryland mother of five, identified only as Rachel, was reportedly raped and murdered on a hiking trail.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has yet to respond to requests for comment on these incidents. The immigration status of Moreno, the alleged accomplice in the New York City attack, remains uncertain.
These incidents underscore the urgent need for robust immigration policies and law enforcement measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens. The conservative perspective emphasizes the importance of individual freedom and limited government, but it also recognizes the need for effective law enforcement and border control to maintain order and protect citizens. As these incidents demonstrate, a failure to adequately address these issues can have devastating consequences.
