Is Your Tax Money Fueling Extremism? Inside The CoNTROVERSIAL Inflation Reduction Act Scandal

Written by Published

Republican senators have leveled serious allegations against the Biden-Harris administration, accusing them of channeling taxpayer funds to extremist groups via the contentious Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

The Act, they argue, is a guise for promoting radical ideologies that undermine American values.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, the accusations were made public during a press conference held on Wednesday. Representatives Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE) presented their findings, rebranding the IRA as the Invest in Radical Activities Act.

The IRA, signed into law by President Biden on August 16, 2022, is one of the most significant government expenditures aimed at addressing climate change and advancing clean energy initiatives in the history of the United States. Critics, however, argue that the Act, touted as a means to curb inflation, has failed to deliver on its promise, instead serving as a repackaged version of the Green New Deal.

The Republican senators have implicated the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the alleged misappropriation of funds. They claim that the EPA has been directing taxpayer money to radical groups that propagate anti-American ideologies under the pretense of environmental justice.

Senator Capito disclosed that a substantial portion of the IRA's $3 billion allocation for Environmental and Climate Justice Block Grants is being funneled to organizations that not only oppose core American values but also partake in extremist activities. She singled out Vice President Kamala Harris for her endorsement of these groups.

Capito stated, Weve really been digging into who is getting these massive amounts of grants through the EPA. Theres $3 billion in the Inflation Reduction Act, the IRA, that will go for different climate buckets. And in our investigation, we found that a lot of this money thats going out really has little to do with the environment and a lot to do with funding groups that are basically engaged in what I characterize as anti-American activities. Theyre anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, anti-police and anti-border security.

She further criticized Harris, quoting her as saying, I put equity at the center of our nations largest investment in climate in history, to reach the organizations that know their community best. Capito added, Thats what she said when they rolled out and actually named these organizations. And interestingly, today, there was a news article today, saying that the green groups have now formed a coalition today, and guess who theyre endorsing for president? Vice President Harris.

Capito also highlighted the lack of accountability in the disbursement of funds, stating, This uncovers quite a bit of the $3 billion. Were up to $200 million, actually a little bit more than that if you count everything all in, and this is just a lack of accountability. The administrator of the EPA has been questioned about this. He says the money hasnt gone out, that was their first thing. Well, they havent gotten the money yet. Now theyre saying, well, we dont check out the partner organizations. So this NDN [Collective] would be a partner organization as opposed to an actual grantee. So, why arent you vetting these people? I mean, this is taxpayer dollars, and what do they have to do with telling people how to live and cope better and clean up their environment?

Capito further detailed the organizations receiving substantial funding under the IRA, including the Climate Justice Alliance, NDN Collective, Coalitions in New York and New Jersey, Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs, and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. These groups have been accused of promoting anti-American sentiments, advocating for the abolition of essential institutions like the police and military, and glorifying extremist ideologies.

Echoing Capito's sentiments, Senator Ricketts argued that American taxpayers do not want their money supporting groups that advocate for the abolition of essential institutions like the military and police. He stated, Everyday Nebraskans dont think its a good idea that our tax dollars should go to radical organizations to lobby our own government. Thats just crazy.

Ricketts further pointed out that while legitimate environmental issues remain unaddressed by the EPA, taxpayer money is instead being funneled into promoting radical ideologies. He said, When youre giving money to organizations like the Climate Justice Alliance, and they are funding the march on Washington and they are waving the Free Palestinian flags and so forth, were paying them to lobby our government. Everyday Nebraskans dont think thats a good idea that our tax dollars should go to radical organizations to lobby our own government. Thats just crazy. And youre talking about the NDN collective and the things they want to do like abolishing the military, abolishing the police, abolishing Customs and Border Protection, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Everyday Americans think those organizations are important organizations. And we want to keep them to keep us safe. This is really, really radical stuff that theyre promoting.

Ricketts concluded by highlighting the frustration of everyday Americans with the misuse of their tax dollars, stating, When you see the frustration that people have Washington D.C., this is a prime example of why they have that frustration. The allegations made by the Republican senators underscore the need for transparency and accountability in government spending, particularly when it comes to taxpayer dollars.
