In a recent conversation with Tucker Carlson, Dr. Ben Carson, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), shared his views on a range of topics, including the potential withdrawal of Joe Biden from the 2024 race, the Trump shooting, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to Gateway Pundit, the discussion took a significant turn when Carlson asked Dr. Carson for his opinion on Kamala Harris. Dr. Carson responded, I think she is a politician. And shes interested in the accumulation of power and control. When further probed by Carlson about Harris's beliefs, Dr. Carson did not hesitate to label her as a Marxist.
The conversation then shifted to Harris's potential for victory, to which Dr. Carson responded, She can win. This is going to be a great test of the power of the media to take someone who formerly was universally disliked and transform them into a godlike figure.
Dr. Carson also expressed his skepticism about the media's portrayal of Harris, likening it to an attempt to present her as a reincarnation of Martin Luther King. He questioned whether Black voters would be swayed by this portrayal. He highlighted the gains made by Donald Trump among Black voters, as evidenced by CNN aggregate polling in May, which showed Trump securing approximately 22% support among Black voters. Despite this gain from 2020, President Joe Biden still held a lead of more than 40 points at that time.
Dr. Carson concluded his thoughts on Harris by saying, I know the media is going to do everything to make her seem like Martin Luther King in a different body. But I think people maybe are not going to be as easy to manipulate as that. This statement underscores the critical role of the media in shaping public opinion, a theme that was recurrent throughout the interview.
