In a shocking revelation, the assailant who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump seems to have utilized the social media platform Gab to disseminate messages that were "in support of President Biden," as per the platform's founder.

Andrew Torba, Gab's CEO, disclosed on Wednesday that he had received "an emergency disclosure request from a law enforcement agency," which led him to believe that Thomas Matthew Crooks "may have had an account on our platform." As reported by The New York Post, the account in question, @epicmicrowave, had a total of nine posts, a fact that Torba shared on Twitter half an hour after receiving the law enforcement request. However, the CEO emphasized that he has been "unable to confirm" whether the account indeed belonged to Crooks.

"Although the account had a limited number of posts, the majority of them were in support of President Biden," Torba stated. He further elaborated that several posts specifically expressed approval of President Biden's COVID lockdowns, border policies, and executive orders.

Images of pro-Biden comments made by the account were shared by Torba, with the account handle redacted for privacy. In one instance, the account holder ridiculed an election projection shared by another user in February 2021, stating, Didnt you also think Biden would lose in a landslide yeah I would not be very confident in your election predictions.

In another discussion thread, the user defended Biden's border policies by citing a study that compared crime statistics among illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, and American citizens in Texas. The user wrote, Biden executive orders dont incentivize human trafficking as human traffickers arent interested in citizenships, likewise the majority of illegal immigrants are not criminals and in fact some studies (such as the one linked below) show lower rates of crime committed by these individuals.

Torba acknowledged the potential risks associated with disclosing this information, both personally and for his business. He wrote, "If the past is any guide, defying the D.C. consensus by publishing the first definitive evidence that the shooter was a Biden supporter something Democrats and their media allies have tried to cover up and deny at every turn has a high probability of resulting in significant political and media backlash."

The CEO also confirmed that the account data has been preserved, pending receipt of a search warrant.

The assailant, 20-year-old Crooks, unleashed a hail of bullets with an AR-15 rifle during Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pa. on July 13. The former president was grazed in the ear, and a rally attendee was killed before Crooks was neutralized by a Secret Service sniper.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, as authorities have yet to provide further details. However, the incident has ignited a wave of indignation over perceived failings of the Secret Service in safeguarding the presidential candidate.
