In a recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, two men were critically injured.

One of the victims, David Dutch, 57, has now been discharged from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, as confirmed by hospital officials.

According to ABC News, Dutch, a former Marine and current commandant of his Marine Corps League detachment, sustained severe injuries to his chest and liver. He was placed in a medically induced coma following the incident, as reported by the Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania.

In a statement last week, Dutch's family expressed their gratitude towards the first responders and medical professionals who played a pivotal role in saving his life. "David and our entire family are especially grateful to all the first responders and medical professionals who saved his life, including the Life Flight and trauma surgical teams," they said. The family also extended their condolences and prayers to the other victims of this tragic event and their families.

The second victim, James Copenhaver, 74, is still in the hospital, listed in serious but stable condition. His family also expressed their appreciation for the medical team providing him care. "Jim would like to especially thank the first responders, medics, and hospital staff who have provided him with initial and continuing care," they stated. Copenhaver also extended his thoughts and prayers to the other victims, their families, and President Trump, wishing them all a safe and speedy recovery.

The tragic event also claimed the life of firefighter Corey Comperatore, who heroically died shielding his family from the gunfire, as stated by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. Comperatore, 50, is survived by his wife and two daughters, leaving a legacy of bravery and selflessness.
