Sen. Rick Scott Reveals His TOP Pick To Replace JD Vance's Senate Seat

In the wake of speculation surrounding the potential replacement for Republican Vice-Presidential nominee JD Vance's Senate seat, a prominent figure within the Republican party has voiced his support for businessman and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has publicly endorsed Ramaswamy, praising his messaging and potential as a senator.

According to The Post Millennial, during an interview on The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI, Scott stated, I think Vivek would be a great pick he's got a great message. He's a great messenger, and so I think he would be a great US Senator." Scott, who has previously served on the Senate Republican campaign committee, further emphasized Ramaswamy's readiness for the role, saying, He would hit the ground running.

The speculation over Vance's replacement began after former President Donald Trump announced Vance as his running mate. Ramaswamy, who resides in Ohio, is seen as a potential candidate for the position. When asked about the possibility of stepping into the role, Ramaswamy told Fox News at the Republican National Convention, "If I was asked to serve, I would consider it. Absolutely.

Ramaswamy further elaborated on his willingness to serve, stating, "Running for president wasnt something I thought I was going to be doing. In the moment that were in, Im called to do what I think will allow me to have the maximum impact on saving the country. And if I was asked to serve, yes I would strongly consider it out of my sense of obligation to the country."

Vance, who was elected to the Senate in 2022 and is not due for re-election until 2028, leaves a significant role to fill should he and Trump triumph in November. In such a case, the responsibility of appointing a replacement would fall to Ohios Republican Gov. Mike DeWine. Ramaswamy, however, has not yet discussed the possibility with DeWine. He acknowledged the magnitude of the task, noting that Vance will be leaving "very big shoes to fill and its important that the right person actually take that mantle on."
