AOC Takes Shocking U-Turn: What Changed Her Mind?

In a surprising turn of events, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who had previously championed President Joe Biden's reelection campaign and criticized fellow Democrats for their attempts to push him out of the race, has now pledged her full support to Vice President Kamala Harris.

This comes after Biden's announcement of his withdrawal from the reelection bid, which was followed by an endorsement of Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination.

According to The Post Millennial, Ocasio-Cortez, during an Instagram livestream on Thursday, had expressed her concern over the enormous peril of replacing the President at the top of the ticket. However, by Sunday afternoon, the progressive representative seemed to have a change of heart. She posted, Kamala Harris will be the next President of the United States. I pledge my full support to ensure her victory in November.

Ocasio-Cortez emphasized the importance of unity in the face of opposition, stating, Now more than ever, it is crucial that our party and country swiftly unite to defeat Donald Trump and the threat to American democracy. Lets get to work.

Despite her endorsement, Ocasio-Cortez had previously warned that Democrats were not entirely convinced by Harris. She stated, I'm just going to say it. If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave..... that they will support Kamala, Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken. She further added, I'm in these rooms. I see what they say in conversations. They are interested in removing the whole ticket.

Ocasio-Cortez also criticized the Democratic leadership for their lack of thought in not having an alternate plan to Biden's campaign. Despite these concerns, Harris has received endorsements from notable Democrats, including the Clintons, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and fellow Squad members Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Cori Bush (D-Mo).
