New York's Democratic Socialist Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has publicly chastised her fellow Democrats for their clandestine attempts to undermine the Biden campaign.
In a recent video, she accused them of covertly seeking to oust Vice President Kamala Harris, while refusing to openly admit their intentions.
According to The Blaze, Ocasio-Cortez took to social media to voice her concerns. "I'm gonna say what a lot of these folks aren't saying. I'm just gonna say it," she declared. She went on to express her belief that those wishing for President Biden's departure are not necessarily supporters of Vice President Harris. "If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave, that they will support Kamala, Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken," she stated.
Ocasio-Cortez, known for her candidness, didn't hold back in her critique of her colleagues. "A lot of them are not just interested in removing the president. They are interested in removing the full ticket," she revealed, hinting at the internal dynamics within the Democratic party. She also criticized those who were not openly admitting their desire to remove Harris from the ticket, labeling their behavior as "bulls***."
In the hour-long video, Ocasio-Cortez conceded that Biden's performance in the debate against Trump was less than stellar. She also suggested a conspiracy theory that Republicans were planning to manipulate the election outcome through the Supreme Court. "I want to put all my cards out on the table because I don't know what's going to happen," she said, reflecting her uncertainty about the political future.
Despite her recent criticisms, Ocasio-Cortez has previously defended Biden, asserting that his candidacy was a settled issue. "I have spoken with him extensively, he made clear then, and he has made clear since, that he's in this race. The matter is closed," she stated in the past. "Joe Biden is our nominee. He is not leaving this race. He is in this race and I support him," she affirmed.
However, the pressure on Biden has escalated following an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally. This incident has added another layer of complexity to the already tense political landscape. The full video of Ocasio-Cortez's comments was posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
