Move Over, Red Hats: Ear Bandages Are The New Trend!

In a show of solidarity with the former President Donald Trump, attendees at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee have adopted a unique fashion statement - makeshift ear bandages.

This comes after Trump, aged 78, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania, resulting in a grazed ear.

According to The New York Post, Trump made a surprise appearance at the convention floor on Monday night, his right ear adorned with a distinctive white patch. This new look was quickly adopted by many in the crowd, turning it into a symbol of support for the former president.

Joe Neglia, a 63-year-old delegate from Arizona, was among those who embraced this trend. Speaking to CBS News, Neglia said, "This is the newest fashion trend!" He further added, "Im getting this going everybody in the world is going to be wearing one of these pretty soon. Its the latest thing. Im setting new fashion ground here."

Neglia crafted his own ear bandage from a folded white envelope, a gesture he described as a show of "sympathy with Donald Trump." In an interview with The Guardian, he said, "I saw that man get shot, I thought that man has almost given his life for his country, he deserves some respect for that."

Stacey Goodman, another delegate from Arizona, told The Hill that her paper ear "bandage" was a symbol of "solidarity with my president, Trump, not the current thing thats in the administration."

The convention also saw an enthusiast dressed as Uncle Sam, sporting an ear bandage that read "fight! fight! fight!" - the same words Trump chanted seconds after the shooter opened fire.

The assassination attempt on Trump occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The gunman, armed with an AR-15 style rifle, fired eight shots from a nearby rooftop, killing a former volunteer fire chief, Corey Comperatore, and seriously injuring two other attendees. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was neutralized by Secret Service snipers. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

Despite the recent attempt on his life, Trump made a triumphant return to the political stage, clinching the Republican nomination with a near-unanimous vote. He is expected to formally accept the bid to become the next President of the United States in his first post-shooting speech on Thursday.
