In a recent episode of "The Stephen A. Smith Show," ESPN's Stephen A. Smith made a bold assertion about the political future of former President Donald Trump. Smith suggested that the recent assassination attempt on Trump's life has not only bolstered his image but also virtually guaranteed his victory in the forthcoming election.

According to the Daily Caller, Trump survived an assassination attempt by the now-deceased 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks at a rally in Pennsylvania. The former president was seen leaving the scene with a bloodied face, a bullet having grazed his head. Smith, a seasoned media personality, opined that this incident has handed Trump an unbeatable advantage in the upcoming election.

"In my opinion, the shooter, he just handed Donald Trump the election," Smith said. "That is what I believe." He further added, "Ladies and gentlemen, you cant buy Ive been in media for 30 years you cant buy a better photo than what Donald Trump has at his disposal as we speak."

Smith argued that the media's portrayal of Trump following the incident was starkly different from their usual characterization of President Joe Biden. He noted that the media lauded Trump's strength, courage, and vibrancy, words seldom used to describe Biden.

Smith also read out Trump's statement on Truth Social following the assassination attempt. Trump expressed gratitude to the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies and offered condolences to those injured and killed during the incident. Smith praised the statement, saying, "Theres not a word in there that he said that we can refute."

Smith further contended that despite Trump's controversial past, including two impeachments, a $454 million settlement, and 34 felony convictions, the assassination attempt has transformed him into a political martyr. He said, "That Donald Trump is now a martyr. You slice it any way you want to it dont get any better."

Smith also touched upon the recent ruling in Florida that prevents Trump from being prosecuted for removing files from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago estate. He suggested that this ruling, coupled with the assassination attempt, would deter any district attorney from summoning Trump to court for his other cases, especially with the election looming.

Smith concluded, "He will be officially the GOP nominee. How are you going to rush him into court for the 2020 election case now? He still has the Georgia 2020 election interference case. How are you going to run that against him now? Tell me what prosecutor is going to be able to justify to the American public, taking a presidential candidate and a GOP nominee into court days or weeks after he survived an assassination attempt? You cant do it."

Smith's final words were a definitive prediction: "So all the legal stuff, all the legal maneuverings that have been taking place, its all over, ladies and gentlemen. Donald Trumps not going to jail. Not gonna be prosecuted. You can book it." This statement encapsulates the sentiment that the recent events have not only strengthened Trump's political standing but also shielded him from potential legal repercussions.
