In an exclusive report by Fox News, it has been revealed that two conservative nonprofit organizations, Americans for Consumer Protection and Building Americas Future, have joined forces to launch a campaign against the Democrats' proposed crackdown on Zyn nicotine pouches.

The campaign, which is reportedly worth six figures, kicked off at the U.S. Open golf tournament in North Carolina, where activists armed with signs and promotional materials urged lawmakers to "Save Our Pouches."

The nonprofits issued a statement, arguing that "Nicotine pouches have been found to help adult smokers transition 'to safer alternatives.' Sweden has virtually eradicated usage of traditional cigarettes by enabling this transition to safer alternatives and the countrys openness to allow the sale of smoke free alternatives (like nicotine pouches) to cigarettes." They further contended that "Instead of banning nicotine pouches, alternative products to cigarettes such as nicotine pouches have helped accelerate the rapid decrease of smoking rates among adults in Sweden."

At the U.S. Open, campaigners promoting the "Save Our Pouches" message distributed merchandise and gathered signatures for a petition opposing the proposed Zyn ban by Democrats.

The move comes in response to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's call for a federal crackdown on Zyn nicotine pouches earlier this year, a call that sparked significant backlash. Although Schumer did not explicitly call for a ban, he did issue a warning to parents about the product's popularity and announced his intention to ask the FTC and the FDA to investigate Zyn for potential marketing and health concerns related to children.

The U.S. Open marked the beginning of the "Save our Pouches Summer Tour," a series of events aimed at rallying opposition to the proposed ban on nicotine pouches. The tour is expected to target 10 similar sporting events in the coming months. According to the press release, the tour will "help engage low propensity conservatives ahead of the 2024 election" and will prioritize events with a high concentration of conservative pouch users who may not typically attend traditional political events such as rallies or state party conventions.
