Former President Donald Trump marked his 78th birthday with a political rally in Florida, where he was joined by members of his fan club, Club 47.
The event, held in West Palm Beach, was described by Trump as the "biggest birthday party Ive ever had by far." The celebration featured a Make America Great Again-themed birthday cake, according to Fox News.
Trump used the occasion to reiterate some of his most popular campaign trail assertions, including his contention that President Biden is unfit to hold office. "Our country is being destroyed by incompetent people," Trump declared to the crowd. He further suggested that "all presidents should have aptitude tests."
Club 47, based in Palm Beach County, aims to keep local Trump supporters engaged with the campaign. The club managed to sell all of its approximately 5,000 tickets, priced at $35 each, with more exclusive seats near the stage going for $60.
Trump also made a significant promise during the event. He pledged to construct a "great" Iron Dome for the U.S., stating it would be "made in America." The idea, which he credited to former President Ronald Reagan, was met with enthusiasm. "By next term we will build a great Iron Dome over our country," Trump said. "We deserve a dome. We deserve it all, made state of the art."
He further explained the concept, stating, "It's a missile defense shield, and it'll all be made in America," he said. "Jobs, jobs, jobs."
The event was a testament to Trump's enduring popularity among his supporters and his continued influence within the conservative movement. His remarks, particularly about the Iron Dome, underscore his commitment to American manufacturing and national security, two cornerstones of his political philosophy.
