WATCH: Ana Navarro ATTACKS Latinos In New RIDICULOUS Rant...

Ana Navarro, a political commentator for CNN, has sparked controversy with her critique of Hispanic individuals who endorse the immigration policy of former President Donald Trump, implying that such support is misguided.

A recent poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College revealed that Trump has narrowed his gap with President Joe Biden among black and Hispanic Americans in six key swing states. Speaking on "CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta," Navarro suggested that Trump is indifferent to the immigration status of Latinos when it comes to deportation.

"People are well aware of his misogynistic and racist tendencies, and his penchant for divisive rhetoric," Navarro stated. "Yet, they don't seem to take him at his word or treat him seriously. They perceive it as part of a comedic performance, a form of entertainment."

Navarro, addressing host Jim Acosta, said, "This is a reality that we, as Latinos, are familiar with. There are Latino immigrants who forget their own immigrant roots and seek to close the door behind them. They believe that adopting an anti-immigrant stance will make them appear more American. This is a misguided approach, as they fail to understand that when someone travels thousands of miles to target Latinos in a Texas Walmart, they don't care about your immigration history or your accent. They're looking for someone who looks and sounds like them. When people are against a certain group, they're not interested in your documentation. They're simply against that group."

According to a 2023 poll by Convention of States Action and The Trafalgar Group, less than 3% of likely Latino voters support amnesty for illegal immigrants. An Associated Press (AP)-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll published in January found that 43% of Hispanic adults ranked immigration as the government's top priority, surpassing 36% of white respondents, 29% of Asians and Pacific Islanders, and 19% of black respondents who shared the same view.

Jose Aristimuno, former Press Secretary for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), accused Trump in April of intending to deport Latinos indiscriminately.

"Immigration is a significant issue. It all matters," Aristimuno said. "Donald Trump has expressed his desire for mass deportations of Latinos. If you're a Latino American tuning into Fox News today, he wants to deport you. He wants you gone."
