In a tragic incident, three individuals associated with an Oklahoma-based missionary group, Missions in Haiti, lost their lives in a gang attack in Haiti.
The victims were identified as David Lloyd III, his wife Natalie Lloyd, and Jude Montis, the Haitian director of the organization. The incident occurred on Thursday evening outside Port-au-Prince, the capital city of Haiti.
The organization confirmed the tragic news on their Facebook page, stating, "David Lloyd III, his wife Natalie Lloyd, and Jude Montis were shot and killed by the gang." The post came after an earlier update that detailed the attack on the Lloyds and Montis outside a church.
The group's Facebook post narrated the horrifying ordeal, "Davy, Natalie, and the kids were ambushed by a gang of 3 trucks full of guys as they were leaving the church. Davy was taken to the house, tied up, and beaten. The gang then took our trucks, loaded everything they wanted, and left."
The Lloyds were able to make phone calls to recount the experience before their cell batteries died. The organization further reported, "They are holed up in there, the gangs have shot all the windows out of the house and continue to shoot. Their lives are in danger."
Natalie's father, Missouri State Representative Ben Baker, expressed his grief on Facebook, writing, "My heart is broken in a thousand pieces. I've never felt this kind of pain."
Former President Donald Trump also commented on the incident on Truth Social, stating, "God bless Davy and Natalie. Such a tragedy. Haiti is totally out of control. Find the killers NOW!!!"
