The residence of Rex Heuermann, a New York architect implicated in the notorious Gilgo Beach murders, was revisited by investigators on Monday.

Law enforcement vehicles from both the state and county were spotted outside Heuermann's single-family dwelling in Massapequa Park, Long Island, prior to 9 a.m.

Inquiries directed to the New York State Police and Suffolk County Police Department were referred to the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney, which refrained from commenting.

Tania Lopez, spokesperson for District Attorney Tierney, reiterated in an emailed statement, As District Attorney Tierney has previously stated, the work of the Gilgo Beach Homicide Task force is continuing, adding, "We do not comment on investigative steps while ongoing."

Attempts to reach Heuermann's legal representatives and family for a response were unsuccessful.

Heuermann, aged 60, is scheduled to appear in court for a status hearing on June 18 at the Suffolk County Criminal Court in Riverhead. A trial date has yet to be determined.

Earlier this year, Heuermann was indicted for the murder of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, the fourth woman linked to him. Brainard-Barnes disappeared in 2007, with her remains discovered over three years later along a coastal highway on Long Island.

This formal charge follows Heuermann's identification as the primary suspect in the death of the Connecticut mother, which occurred when he was apprehended in July for the murders of three other women.
