O.J. Simpson offered some thoughts about the conclusion of the Murdaugh trial.
The New York Post reports that Simpson felt that the Murdaugh trial could have ended how his day in court did. In other words, he also believed that Murdaugh could have ended up with a not guilty verdict in his trial. That is not what ultimately happened, but Simpson felt it necessary to offer his opinions.
Simpson made a Twitter video in which he chuckled and said: I dont know why they think Im an expert, and captioned the video: People keep asking me my opinion of the Alex Murdaugh trial.
Just hours before Murdaugh was found guilty of the double murder of his wife and son, Simpson went on social media to offer his opinion that he felt that Murdaugh might get away with a not-guilty verdict. Although O.J. Simpson believes Murdaugh committed the double murder, he thinks he might still get away with it.
Simpson received a not-guilty verdict in his trial for double murder in 1995. That was an extremely high-profile trial and situation for him. At this time, Simpson said: I am not qualified to [really] say if the guy did it or you didnt do it, He then continued by saying: But from what Ive seen, do I think its more likely that he did it? Yes. But more likely equals reasonable doubt.
It didnt take long after Simpson put the video up that hundreds of comments flooded in to highlight the irony of someone like Simpson producing commentary about the Murdaugh trial. They wanted it noted that he probably should not be speaking about these matters at all. After all, many people still believe that Simpson committed double murders nearly 30 years ago.
The New York Post reports that conservative radio host John Ziegler said the following:
Man who killed his wife and her friend, and beat the charges despite not having the guts to take a stand, wonders why people might think hes an expert on [an obviously] guilty rich guy on trial for murdering his wife.
It is just the latest national story that Simpson has done his best to put himself in the middle of, and it is yet another moment about which people are shaking their heads.
