WATCH: Bill Maher Explains How Taylor Swift Can Swing Election

Bill Maher, the host of "Real Time," has expressed his belief that pop icon Taylor Swift could potentially influence the outcome of the upcoming presidential election in favor of President Biden.

"I have been reluctant to treat Taylor Swift as a subject of national news, but I am convinced that she has the power to sway the election," Maher stated during a panel discussion on Friday evening. He further cautioned supporters of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement to tread carefully when criticizing Swift, emphasizing her ability to appeal to a broad spectrum of voters.

Maher highlighted Swift's roots as a country artist from Pennsylvania, her romantic history, and her current relationship with an NFL player, suggesting that these factors could endear her to MAGA supporters. He also pointed out that Swift's fan base might include many individuals who are not yet registered to vote. "She doesn't need to disclose her political preference. Merely encouraging her fans to register to vote could have a significant impact," Maher explained.

Caitlan Flanagan, author of "Girl Land," expressed skepticism about Swift's potential influence on the election, stating, "I am not aware of anyone who is still undecided about their vote in this election." Maher countered by emphasizing the potential of Swift to mobilize unregistered voters, a demographic he described as "untapped."

Swift, who recently won a Grammy for Album of the Year, is expected to attend the Super Bowl on Sunday to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Their relationship has garnered considerable attention throughout the NFL season.

Reports suggest that the Biden campaign is seeking Swift's endorsement for the 2024 election, following her public support for him in 2020. However, some conservatives have advised Swift to refrain from political involvement, warning that endorsing Biden could alienate a significant portion of her fan base and potentially damage her brand.

Maher, on the other hand, has expressed growing doubts about Biden's ability to defeat former President Trump in the upcoming election. He reiterated his concerns during Friday's show, in the wake of the controversial report released by Special Counsel Robert Hur.
