In a recent public meeting, Tiffany Henyard, the Democratic Mayor of Dolton, Illinois, lashed out at her fellow officials following inquiries about her questionable spending habits and lack of transparency.

WGN Investigates revealed that Henyard's detractors on the local board have expressed their distrust over the allocation of funds. They have consequently obstructed attempts to settle bills that lack comprehensive explanations. "We dont trust that money is going to where its intended so theyve blocked attempts to pay bills that dont come with detailed explanations," they stated.

Fox News Digital had earlier reported on Henyard's extravagant lifestyle, which includes a combined salary of nearly $300,000 and regular patronage of beauty vendors. This is in stark contrast to the median income of Dolton, which stands at $24,000. Henyard's use of the town's credit card has also been a point of contention.

During the Monday meeting, Henyard chastised her colleagues, asserting her leadership role. "You all forget Im the leader. They want to hear from the mayor. You all aint learned that yet. The mayor, not the trustees that dont do nothing. They only run their mouth. You all dont do no work, no work!" she declared.

Brittney Norwood, a Dolton trustee, challenged Henyard's leadership during the meeting. "How about you be a good leader and bring [proposals] to the forefront so not just us, but residents and everyone else in America know how the money is being spent," she suggested. Norwood is part of a lawsuit accusing the mayor of fraudulent actions, as per a complaint reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Henyard later accused her critics of spreading false narratives and attacking her leadership. "Yall got false narratives out there, and yall should be ashamed of yall selves. Yall Black. Yall are Black! And yall sitting up here beating and attacking on a Black woman thats in power. Yall should be ashamed of yall selves," she stated.

WGN Investigates has documented tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars spent on trips, meals, and more by Henyard and her allies in Dolton and on the Thornton Township board, where she serves as the supervisor. The report also disclosed that Henyard and other officials had spent over $67,000 on trips to Portland, Austin, Atlanta, and New York City, with many of the flights and accommodations being first class.

Henyard has reportedly declined to clarify the specific purpose of these trips or the high-priced services she uses. She seems to perceive such scrutiny as an "attack" on her leadership. "Everything we do is for the people. But were under attack. We get scrutinized by the media," she said. "For what? Loving on the people? Showing that they matter to us? We going through the fires for you all."

The Illinois Attorney General has reportedly given the foundation until mid-February to demonstrate how it spends its money or face legal action.
