A 17-year-old inmate from Louisiana, who was charged with attempted murder, was turned in to the authorities by his own parents after being on the run for three days.

Kimmy Dauntain Jr. managed to escape from the custody of Juvenile Justice officers while attending a relative's funeral in Franklin on Friday. However, his taste of freedom was short-lived as his parents handed him over to the Louisiana State Police on Sunday morning. Dauntain's escape lasted just over 42 hours before he found himself back in custody.

Dauntain was being held on multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, simple battery, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, according to CNN. This incident follows a series of similar escapes in recent weeks.

In Pennsylvania, a 17-year-old murder suspect named Shane Pryor fled from a medical transport on January 24 while being taken to a children's hospital for treatment of a hand injury. Pryor, who is suspected of committing a murder at the age of 14 in 2020, was apprehended five days later in Philadelphia after escaping from the Emergency Room parking lot.

In Arkansas, two individuals, Noah Roush, 22, and Jatonia Bryant, 23, were discovered missing 36 hours after their jailbreak on January 22. Roush, who is facing burglary charges and is also a suspect in a homicide, was captured following a three-day manhunt. Bryant was apprehended on January 29.
