Florida is in the news again for all the wrong reasons.

A Florida woman allegedly pulled a gun on a McDonalds employee after being denied a free cookie to which she believed she was entitled. Local news station WESH reported on this and stated that the woman allegedly pulled a gun on the McDonalds employee after being denied the free cookie that she felt she deserved as part of a promotion run by the restaurant.

Amari Hendricks, 24, was in the drive-thru of an Altamonte Springs McDonalds when she started to argue with an employee about her right to the free cookie that she felt was supposed to come with her meal. The New York Post reports that someone in the restaurant eventually handed Hendricks the cookie to try to appease her and get her to move on, but apparently, this was not enough.

Police say that Hendricks allegedly pulled a gun on the employee at the McDonalds and continued to make threats. They say that she pointed the gun directly at the employees in the restaurant, and they understandably felt their lives were in danger. It was undoubtedly a terrifying situation for everyone to deal with.

Some of the employees in the restaurant were so frightened that they fled deeper into the restaurant's interior and locked doors behind them, according to reporting by the New York Post.

Despite this, Hendricks could still get into the restaurant and allegedly assaulted a male employee by scratching his face. The employee called 911 at that point.

Police arrived quickly on the scene and demanded that Hendricks give herself up. She initially refused their commands and continued to act irrationally. However, she was eventually taken into custody after a short time.

Hendricks is now facing many charges for the actions that she took on that day. She is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and resisting arrest. More charges could be added later if law enforcement officers believe it is appropriate to add more.
