President's Day Greetings: MTG Declares "We need a national divorce"

In a tweet posted on Monday morning, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called for a "national divorce" between red states and blue states.

"We need a national divorce. We need to separate into red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this," Greene said. "From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat's traitorous America Last policies, we are done."

Greene previously made an identical call and issued an online poll to her Twitter followers in the month of October 2021 to determine whether America should be granted the right to have a "national divorce."

The majority of respondents said they believed that Republican states and Democrat states should be united 47.7 percent. However, 43 percent said that blue and red states should be separated. 9.3 percent of respondents were undecided.

Greene confirmed the following day that a divorce in the national context is not a call for civil war "like Antifa/BLM incitement over the past few years, it's a civil legal process."

"It's a real issue bc Americans don't like communism," she explained.

After the vote, Greene wrote a Twitter thread describing her feelings and stating the following "So many people tell me daily how devastated they are over the state of our union on every level, and I completely share their utter disgust & heartbreak for the condition of our country."

Rep. Greene declared that in a span of only 9 months, Joe Biden and the Democratic party have caused a great deal of harm to the citizens of the United States and damaged the nation so catastrophically that 43% of the population would like to see a National Divorce and separation between Republican and Democrat states.

Greene continued to say that "This should be the warning siren to all of us that America is on a path to irreconcilable differences."

She raised the subject in December of the same year as well and stated, "You know what is necessary about threatening a divorce? It's a wake up call to the one offending the other that they've had enough. And if the other party cares at all, they look at what they are doing wrong and care to fix it. National Divorce is not civil war."

Greene drew a comparison to marriage, stating that successful marriages are the outcome of dedicated individuals collaborating to solve conflicts and amending behaviors that harm the other.

"But the state of our union is currently far from happy, and I really dont care how many Democrats I offend by calling it out," Greene continued. "For your information, you like our red states BECAUSE of our politics and its OUR Republican politics that create the very environments you like."

According to Greene, she does not feel guilty for contemplating thoughts that prevent Democratic voters and donors from migrating to Republican states and destroying them with their harmful ideas and voting records, as they have done in the past. She emphasized that these individuals have caused the decline of the states they previously resided in due to their Democrat-backed voting and donations, and she will not apologize for opposing their detrimental influence on Republican states.

Greene went on to say that she does not desire a divorce from the nation; however, she added that she will "not tolerate is Democratic Communism. Leave your blue votes in your blue states."
