A father and son from Texas have been taken into custody in connection with the brutal murders of an expectant teenager and her boyfriend.

Christopher Preciado, 19, has been charged with capital murder for the deaths of 18-year-old Savanah Soto and 22-year-old Matthew Guerra. Meanwhile, his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, faces charges of abuse of a corpse. Authorities have indicated that additional charges are forthcoming, including one that will recognize the unborn baby as a victim.

During a recent press conference, Sgt. Washington Moscoso revealed that Christopher Preciado "committed the murders" shortly before midnight on December 21 at an undisclosed location. Moscoso further disclosed that Ramon Preciado assisted in disposing of the bodies, which were later discovered with fatal gunshot wounds inside a vehicle parked at a residential complex in northwest San Antonio.

According to Moscoso, the tragic events unfolded as a result of a "narcotics-related deal that went bad." He clarified that there is a "drug connection" between Christopher Preciado and the young couple, emphasizing that this is the primary motive behind the killings.

The investigation was initiated after Soto's family reported her missing when she failed to show up for her scheduled appointment to induce labor. The bodies were ultimately found inside Guerra's vehicle.

USA Today reports that the police were able to locate the suspects' vehicle with the assistance of the U.S. Secret Service and information obtained from a phone. Following the vehicle to a residence in San Antonio on Wednesday, law enforcement officials were met by Ramon Preciado, who willingly cooperated with the investigation. Both father and son were subsequently interrogated, leading to the immediate issuance of an arrest warrant.

While being escorted by authorities, Ramon Preciado accused the media of spreading falsehoods but did not provide any specific details regarding the alleged lies. Sgt. Moscoso assured the public that the detectives involved in the case are fully committed to ensuring justice for the grieving families.
