ISIS Claims Responsibility For Deadly Suicide Bomb Attacks In Iran

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the recent suicide bomb attacks in Iran, according to a report by Fox News Digital.

The attacks targeted a memorial for Qassem Soleimani, a deceased Iranian military official. In a statement published on Telegram, ISIS named Omar al-Mowahid and Sayefulla al-Mujahid as the suicide bombers behind the "dual martyrdom operation." The explosions resulted in the death of at least 103 people and left up to 141 others injured, as reported by Iranian media.

The attacks have added to the already tense relations between Iran, the United States, and Israel. Following the killing of Soleimani in 2020 by a U.S. drone strike ordered by then-President Trump, Iran's proxy terrorist groups have launched over 100 attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria. Additionally, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have disrupted trade in the Red Sea. Hezbollah, another group supported by Iran, has also threatened Israel's northern border with drone attacks.

Initially, some Iranian leaders blamed Israel for the recent attacks. However, these accusations were dismissed by Western powers. The situation remains volatile as tensions continue to escalate in the region.
