A possible murder-suicide has shocked the affluent community of Dover, Massachusetts, as a couple and their teenage daughter were found dead in their sprawling 19,000 square foot home.
The victims have been identified as Rakesh Kamal, 57, his wife Teena, and their 18-year-old daughter Arianna. The Norfolk County District Attorney, Michael Morrissey, addressed the media during a press conference on Friday to provide details of the tragic incident.
The Kamal family resided in a luxurious mansion located approximately 20 miles southwest of Boston, with a staggering worth of $6.8 million. Arianna, a student at Middlebury College in Vermont, had returned home for the Christmas break. However, concerns arose when a family member, who had not heard from the Kamals for a couple of days, decided to visit their residence.
Upon arriving at the mansion, the relative made a horrifying discovery and immediately contacted the authorities. Local police swiftly responded to the distress call and conducted a thorough search of the premises. Tragically, all three victims were found deceased within the home. Massachusetts State Police officers discovered a firearm near Rakesh Kamal, suggesting the possibility of a murder-suicide.
District Attorney Morrissey cautiously revealed, "I'm led to believe that it's safe for me to tell you that this is probably a domestic incident." The investigation is ongoing, and the Medical Examiner's Office is working diligently to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
