A 14-year-old boy from California has been taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his parents and seriously injuring his 11-year-old sister, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at the family's rural home near the community of Miramonte in Fresno County on Wednesday. The boy's father, Lue Yang, and mother, Se Vang, both 37, were found dead at the scene. The sheriff of Fresno County, John Zanoni, revealed during a press conference that the boy's sister underwent emergency surgery for critical injuries but is expected to recover. The 7-year-old brother was unharmed and is currently in the care of relatives.

Initially, the boy had called 911, claiming that an intruder had attacked his family and then fled in a pickup truck. However, detectives discovered inconsistencies in his story and determined that the weapons used in the attack were actually found in the family home. Sheriff Zanoni stated, "Evidence ultimately showed that he had fabricated the story of a break-in and was responsible for using multiple weapons to attack his mom, his dad, and his sister." The motive behind the incident remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

Zanoni expressed the magnitude of the tragedy, emphasizing that "two children have lost their mother and father due to the actions by their other sibling." He also mentioned that there were no prior indications of violence or any contact with law enforcement or mental health services that would suggest a tendency towards such actions. The boy's identity has not been released due to his status as a minor.
