Startling Viral Video: Transgender Actress Alleges Deliberate Misgendering By Delta Employees

Transgender actress Tommy Dorfman has accused Delta Air Lines of intentionally misgendering her, calling it a "human rights violation.

" The allegation comes after a video of the incident went viral on TikTok.

In the video, which was posted on Christmas Eve, Dorfman can be seen standing by the departure gate as she raises the issue. "And what about when a Delta employee misgenders you intentionally?" she asks.

The worker can be heard responding, "While she's talkingwhile he's talking," before being interrupted by Dorfman. "You just misgendered me again," she asserts.

The worker then claims that it was not intentional, but Dorfman insists that one of the worker's colleagues had intentionally misgendered her twice. The situation escalates as the worker becomes condescending, prompting Dorfman to threaten to have Port Authority escort them out of the building.

Dorfman identifies the employee as Tristan and states that he was fine with the video being shared on social media. In the caption of her TikTok post, Dorfman expresses her surprise at being seen as condescending for flagging a human rights violation after enduring incessant misgendering.

Dorfman, known for her role in the popular Netflix series "13 Reasons Why," publicly came out as a trans woman in 2021 and uses she/her pronouns.

Delta Air Lines has responded to the incident, stating that they are aware of the video and are investigating the matter. A spokesperson for the airline has confirmed that they will be reaching out to Dorfman to gather more information about the incident.

The allegations made by Dorfman highlight the ongoing challenges faced by transgender individuals in society, particularly in regards to being misgendered. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting individuals' gender identities and the need for continued education and awareness.
