This Is NOT Good: FBI Investigating Hack Of Its Own Network

Written by Published

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently on a critical mission to uncover exactly who has been hacking its networks.

Fox News reports that the agency is investigating a hack of its computer networks.

The FBI stated Fox News Digital in which it said it is "aware of the incident and is working to gain additional information."

A spokesman for the FBI said: "This is an isolated incident that has been contained."

He also added: "As this is an ongoing investigation, the FBI does not have further comment to provide at this time."

There were no additional details offered by the spokesperson at this time, as the agency is attempting to keep this incident as quiet as possible. They don't necessarily want the egg on their face of having the information about the hacking that has been done on their network out to the public if they can avoid it.

CNN also reported on the situation and stated that it appears that the hacking effort was used against its New York computer systems. The scary thing about this is that those systems are used to deal with child sex trafficking allegations on those computers. This makes many curious about what the hackers could have been after and why they specifically targeted the computers dealing with child sex trafficking images and cases.

Many people are concerned that the FBI's systems could be so easily compromised like this, which is a fair thing to worry about at a time like this. No matter what, anytime the FBI's systems are compromised, it poses a genuine security threat to the entire country. This is certainly a story worth keeping an eye on, even if the FBI is releasing little information about it now.
