DeSantis SLAMS Colorado Court's Trump Ballot Decision And Shares THIS Suggestion

In the wake of a recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling that bars Donald Trump from the state's primary ballot, Florida Governor and presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis voiced his criticism.

Speaking at a campaign event on Wednesday, DeSantis expressed his concern over what he perceives as the left's misuse of state power to further their agenda. "What you're seeing the left do is they will use the power of the state to advance their agenda. And you see that with the Colorado Supreme Court," he stated.

DeSantis further questioned the basis of the ruling, noting that there was no trial preceding the decision. "I mean, look, if somebody's convicted or something of some of these things there was no trial on any of this. They basically just said, like, you can't be on the ballot. I mean, how does that work?" he queried. He also raised concerns about the potential implications of such a decision, suggesting it could be used to bar other candidates from the ballot.

The Florida Governor also speculated that the Supreme Court would likely overturn the Colorado court's decision. "What's the limiting principle for that? Could we just say that Biden can't be on the ballot because he let in 8 million illegals into the country and violated the Constitution, which he has, could we just say, 'Oh, well, they have money coming to Hunter,'" he added.

The Colorado Supreme Court's ruling, issued on Tuesday evening, disqualifies Trump, the 2024 GOP frontrunner, from appearing on the state's primary ballot. The court's advance sheet headnote states that "President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution," and that it would be a "wrongful act under the Election Code for the Colorado Secretary of State to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot." The court will stay its ruling until Jan. 4, 2024, pending any further appellate proceedings.

Reacting to the ruling, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, "Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing groups scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trumps name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice."

He further accused the Democratic Party leaders of paranoia over Trump's growing lead in the polls and their loss of faith in the Biden presidency.
