In a recent survey conducted by the Wall Street Journal, it was found that 58% of Americans are in support of Israel's military actions against Hamas, reflecting the belief that Israel is taking necessary measures to defend itself and prevent potential attacks.
However, only 17% of Democrats share this sentiment, indicating a growing disconnect with the nation's majority opinion.
The survey also revealed that 42% of participants expressed greater sympathy towards the Israeli people, while a mere 12% expressed similar sentiments towards the Palestinians. The divide was more pronounced among Democrats, with 24% expressing greater sympathy for Palestinians, 17% leaning towards the Israelis, and 48% claiming equal sympathy for both groups. In contrast, 69% of Republicans showed more sympathy for Israelis, with only 2% favoring Palestinians and 17% sympathizing with both groups.
In the midst of this public opinion, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continue their operations against Hamas. In a recent raid on a Hamas compound, the IDF located 250 rockets, shells, and rocket-propelled grenades, along with other weapons and military equipment. The Israeli Air Force also destroyed a launch site in the Jabalia refugee camp, from which rockets were being fired towards the city of Sderot. This was one of several launch sites attacked over the past 24 hours across the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Jewish News Syndicate.
Major Roy Yanovsky, head of the Channel 13 News investigative desk, who is currently on reserve duty with the 7007th Reserve Battalion in Gaza, shared images of the items found in Gaza houses. Among the most common items were RPG missiles and Kalashnikov rifles. Yanovsky also discovered explosive charges, Russian 122 mm Grad missiles, and a calendar featuring a photo of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
In addition to these, Yanovsky found a children's coloring book that begins with a description of the Nakba, a 'Map of Palestine' with monitored borders and no mention of Israel. He emphasized that such items were found in almost every home. Yanovsky concluded his findings with the discovery of a transistor radio that picks up Reshet Bet everywhere, which he claims is crucial for maintaining sanity and connection to the outside world.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry reported that the number of dead in the Gaza Strip had risen to 18,205, with an additional 49,645 wounded. The Jewish Press noted that many of the dead and injured are suspected terrorists, and the IDF has been monitoring the operation of health ministry ambulances, which have been caught numerous times transporting terrorists.
The situation in the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza is reportedly dire, with 65 injured, 12 children in intensive care, 6 premature babies, and 3,000 displaced people. The hospital director confirmed that Israeli drones are bombing anyone leaving or entering the hospital.
The Jewish Press questioned why Gaza, with a population of about 2 million, needs 36 hospitals when Israel, with a population of close to 9 million, has only 30 general hospitals. The publication suggested that over the past 15 years, Hamas has been using hospitals, schools, mosques, and other civic institutions as a cover for storing and operating weapons against Israel.
The Jewish Press also reported that the IDF located a training facility for RPG shooting hidden inside a mosque in the heart of a civilian neighborhood in Jabaliya, with a stock of grenades, cartridges, and various types of weapons. Some of the weapons were found in bags belonging to a civilian organization operating in the Gaza Strip.
The publication further claimed that there are no civilian organizations in Gaza, stating that every institution and the vast majority of the people have been turned into a kind of North Vietnam, where everybody is either part of the fight or a traitor.
The Jewish Press concluded by revealing that the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades operate their own fleet of ambulances, which appear in every way like the real thing. This allows Hamas to transport fighters above ground without fear of an aerial attack. The same ambulances also transport food and ammunition to the fighting terrorists. The publication warned that every empty institution in Gaza is booby-trapped, including schools, hospitals, and mosques.
