Bodyworks Fitness offers both a womens and co-ed gyms in two separate locations.
A Parksville women-only gym says no to a transgender woman (guy) and says he can work out in their co-ed gym. But that was not good enough for Brigid Klyne-Simpson, who says he was uncomfortable working in the same gym as men.
According to Chek News, Klyne-Simpson said, I fell out of it in university because I was just kind of intimidated being around a bunch of mostly really buff guys at the university gym. So finding a ladies gym was something that seemed really exciting, and now that Im out, I understand why I was uncomfortable at the other place.
When Klyne-Simpson signed a membership agreement at the ladies gym, he worked out for over an hour after being welcomed to the gym by one of their trainers.
A few days later, things changed.
Klyne-Simpson said, Then on Monday, I got a call from the same person basically saying, Sorry, we made a mistake, youre not actually allowed to be here, but youre more than welcome to use the co-ed facility. Klyne-Simpson indicated he felt devastated.
However, Dale Nagra, who owns the gym, said of the patrons at the ladies-only gym, We want them to be comfortable, but we also have to worry about the young girls that this gym is set up for and the women and how are their parents gonna feel that theyre in there, then this person walks in with a male voice.
John Nolte, a reporter at Breitbart, offered this thought: Imagine joining a ladies-only gym and having that guy walk inHe has ZERO empathy for how comfortable actual women who signed up for a ladies-only gym feel with him hulking around.
Nagra noted the difficulty of choosing the comfort of a male who identifies as a woman or the comfort of the women patrons in the women-only gym. She stated if you select the transgender to be allowed in the ladies-only gym, then anybody can go in there saying, OK, I identify as a woman, and I want to be able to go in there.
The owner also notes that the co-ed gym offers womens, mens, and gender-neutral changing rooms. We already have transgender people here and all sorts of people; were not discriminatory at all.
Nolte writes, These transsexuals are nothing more than bullies, and those who cater to them are even worse: a bunch of smug, anti-science virtue signalers.
