During a recent campaign stop in Iowa, Vivek Ramaswamy, a presidential hopeful, encountered a retired FBI agent and his wife, who expressed their support for his campaign.
The retired agent, however, had a cautionary message for Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy shared the encounter on X, stating, "I met a former FBI agent and his wife on the campaign trail here in Iowa. They agree with me: we need to root out the corruption & shut down the FBI. At the local level, we have police & prosecutors. At the federal level, we have U.S. marshals & the DOJ. An intermediary bureaucracy is rife with risk for politicized corruption & its been happening since J. Edgar Hoover in the 60s."
The exchange caught the attention of Charlie Kirk, who posed a question, "Is this man warning Vivek hes in danger because of the FBI?"
The retired agent, who wished to remain anonymous, advised Ramaswamy to tread carefully. "Jesus, be careful," he said. Ramaswamy assured him they would be, but the man's warning seemed to carry a deeper meaning.
"You mean 'be careful' be careful," Ramaswamy clarified. The man nodded, adding, "Very careful." He shared his experience of over two decades in a counter-terrorism unit in the FBI and his previous role as a police officer.
When asked if he was worried, the man confirmed, "Yes, I'm worried." He advised Ramaswamy to seek competent help and intelligence before venturing into certain places.
Ramaswamy, who has previously stated his intention to shut down the FBI if he wins the presidency, responded, "I appreciate that. We'll take that seriously, man. We're reading between the lines of what you're saying and we gotcha."
Ramaswamy's campaign is centered around reducing the federal workforce by 75 percent and shutting down several federal agencies, including the IRS, CDC, ATF, DOE, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
"The real threat we face in the United States is the rise of that managerial class from our universities to corporate America to the ultimate mother of the managerial class, the administrative state in the federal government," he said in September.
He further criticized the current state of governance, stating, "Today, the people who we elect to run the government are no longer the ones who actually run the government. It is the deep state in the shadow government of those three-letter agencies that wield power today. That is why I've said that as your next president, I will shut down the unconstitutional federal administrative state."
