WATCH: Nikki Haley Responds To Don Lemon's Nasty Remarks

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was forced to react to the "sexist" opinions voiced by CNN anchor Don Lemon.

Lemon had stated that Haley was not in her "prime" and that conversations about the age and capability of politicians made him "uncomfortable.".

Haley, 51 tweeted this week, "Liberals can't stand the idea of having competency tests for older politicians to make sure they can do the job.

"BTW it's always the liberals who are the most sexist," Haley added.

Don Lemon's statement during "CNN This Morning" on Thursday regarding Haley's age stirred up a lot of criticism, including from his own colleagues.

Lemon, age 56 said, "This whole talk about age makes me uncomfortable. I think its the wrong road to go down. She says people, you know, politicians are something if not in their prime. Nikki Haley isn't in her prime, sorry. A woman is considered to be in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s.

Poppy Harlow asked what the host meant by "prime" and Lemon responded that it was not his definition.

Lemon continued by saying, "It depends, just like 'prime,' if you look it up. If you Google it, when is a woman in her prime, it'll say 20s, 30s and 40s." "Im not saying I agree with that. I think she has to be careful about saying that, you know, politicians are in their prime."

Harlow questioned further to determine if Lemon was referring to "prime for childbearing" or "prime for being President."

To that Lemon answered, "Im just saying what the facts are. Google it. Everybody at home, when is woman in her prime, it says 20s, 30s and 40s. And Im just saying should be careful about saying that politicians are not in their prime and they need to be in prime when they serve. Because she wouldn't be in her prime,"

Lemon addressed the subject of President Biden's age with the other show presenters, with a particular focus on Haley's proposal for politicians over the age of 75 to take "mental competency tests" to evaluate their suitability for office.

"In the America I see, the permanent politician will finally retire," as she announced her run for the 2024 presidency. "Well have term limits for Congress and mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old."

Haley's proposition could affect both Donald Trump, who has stated he will seek the presidency in 2024 and is currently 76 years old, and Joe Biden 80, who has yet to announce his intentions for the 2024 election.
