Political Shift: Why Are Black Americans Abandoning Democratic Party In Record Numbers?

Horace Cooper, Chairman of Project 21, has asserted that the rising homicide rates, which are leading to a "quicker loss of life" among black Americans, are causing a significant shift in their political allegiance.

According to Cooper, black Americans are now abandoning the Democratic party in "record numbers."

Cooper made these remarks during an appearance on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle," where he discussed the challenges black Americans are currently facing, particularly the high crime rate. His comments followed a video clip featuring Washington, D.C.'s Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser discussing the city's crime situation. Cooper highlighted one of Bowser's proposed solutions to the problem, which he found questionable.

Cooper quoted, "You left out the most exciting clip where they're gonna give out Apple air tags so that when your car gets stolen, you can track it down. And 'great let me figure this out. I'm a law-abiding citizen, a criminal took my car. I'm gonna go and meet my criminal.' What good can come from that?"

He further pointed out that the "neo-Marxist cultural attack" on Americans has "led to a quicker loss of life for black Americans. The age at which blacks are dying because of the crime wave is dropping relative to the rest of the population."

Cooper added, "In fact, in 21, and 22, the Centers for Disease Control listed for black Americans something that it hasnt listed for any other group. It says loss of life by homicide, one of the top 10 causes of death not for Asians, not for whites, not for Native Americans, but for black Americans."

Crime data reveals a significant increase in the number of homicides in 2021 compared to 2020 in six major Democrat cities, disproportionately impacting Black Americans. For instance, the percentage of black murder victims in Chicago rose from 70 percent in 2020 to 81 percent in 2021.

However, Cooper sees a silver lining in this grim scenario. He stated, "The good news is that black Americans are telling anyone who will listen. They are no longer staying on the Democrat plantation. Record numbers of black Americans are showing up on social media and theyre telling pollsters theyre not going along with this. They want the America that theyre that our founders fought for."

Recent polls suggest a decline in support for President Joe Biden among Black Americans ahead of the 2024 elections. While Biden reportedly secured 90 percent of the Black vote in the 2020 election, a recent CNN poll indicates that the president's support among this demographic has dropped to 74 percent in a hypothetical matchup against former President Donald Trump.
