In recent weeks, Western leaders from the United States to Europe have been advocating for a "pause" to allow "humanitarian aid" to be delivered to the Gaza Strip.
However, a recently surfaced video footage reveals the stark naivety of such calls.
The video, which has been circulating on social media, shows Hamas "police" brutally assaulting Gaza civilians who are attempting to collect food from a humanitarian aid truck. The truck, painted in the United Nations' signature white, is seen being swarmed by desperate Gazans. In one chilling frame, an object resembling a machete is swung.
The destination of the food supplies? It appears to be intended for Hamas fighters, who are seen retreating to their tunnels. This harsh reality of "humanitarian aid" in Gaza starkly contrasts with the narrative Western leaders continue to propagate, either due to ignorance or deliberate dishonesty. For leaders like Joe Biden, it seems easier to advocate for a pause than to confront the harsh realities on the ground.
Political cowardice seems to be the driving force behind every call for more "aid" to Gaza. These calls are not grounded in the expectation that the aid will reach those who truly need it. While Biden's mental acuity may be questioned, his advisors are undoubtedly aware of where the money, food, and fuel are likely to end up. However, their reluctance to fully support Israel's right to dismantle Hamas stems from fear of global backlash.
This is why Israel must disregard the international noise. Not only for its own sake, but also for the welfare of those in Gaza. The international pro-Palestinian propaganda machine is so pervasive that the mistreatment of civilians by Hamas is often overlooked. Anti-Israel protests in major cities rarely highlight these atrocities. Yet, they are real and provide a stark contrast to the living conditions in the West Bank.
The cycle of violence and suffering will not cease until Hamas is eradicated. This is the harsh reality that Western leaders must confront, rather than perpetuating a narrative that does not reflect the situation on the ground.
